Q: Is this a review?A: Probably not.Had some time yesterday morning, so I said I should finish this book which I really enjoyed the first time I started it during my 7 hour train ride.It portrays 15 lessons taken from Nelson Mandela's life, recorded by the author that wrote his biography.Overall, it left this idea of calmness over me. Don't know how long it will last, but I am processing the emotion it created and trying to understand how I can apply it in the long term.I feel that the author really knew how to bring to life these episodes from his life, which made a big difference in trying to understand them.In addition to the calm that Mr Mandela transferred to us through this book, I think, for me at least, that it reminded me of the journey that people go through in their life and that people do change. No tempo da escola nunca fui muito fã de história, creio que nunca tive bons professores que me incentivassem de forma a despertar a curiosidade sobre fatos e pessoas marcantes... Hoje tento suprir essa lacuna, através de leituras, principalmente biografias ou memórias. Não posso negar que fiquei surpresa ao conhecer um pouco melhor essa figura notória na história da África do Sul e sua luta anti apartheid. Ao contrário do que eu pensava, Mandela nem sempre foi tão pacífico, não era adepto do conceito de não violência adotado por Gandhi, mas acreditava, às vezes, ser necessária a luta armada. Outro ponto interessante sobre sua personalidade, é de que se tratava de um ator exemplar, já que por muitas vezes, talvez quase 100% do tempo, agia como que representando um teatro da própria vida! Intrigante, cauteloso, genial, contraditório, enfim, um homem cheio de qualidades e defeitos como qualquer ser humano, e isso que em suas palavras diferencia um herói de uma lenda (não gosta do conceito lenda). Realmente um herói, que sacrificou 27 anos de sua vida, por um propósito maior! Um homem a ser copiado e respeitado!

Awsome book a must read. Mandela is the Martin Luther King of South Africa. Very motivating.
