An interesting book by Condoleezza. I was impressed by the fact that she was willing to admit mistakes. She indicates that she respects Donald Rumsfeld, but that they did not get along hardly ever. I enjoyed her explanation into the background of why certain decisions were made during her time as national security advisor and Secretary of State. Has an avid reader of Secretary of State memoirs I found this enlightening. I admire Condoleeza Rice and appreciated learning more about her and her service to our country. However, I was surprised to find that the writing often seemed scattered and, for the most part, shallow. It's very detailed, but only on a surface level. Her few moments of reflection are quite good - especially at the end - and I would have preferred more of that to this catalog of decisions, arguments and airplane rides.
