I have enjoyed other work by St. Clare, and thought I would try this one.Mikhel, unhappy in his werewolf family, leaves so he's not part of a pack. His best friend Zach decides to go with him. Some years pass, and they become friends with Taylor, and agree to escort her to a New Year's Eve party. Although Mikhel wants Taylor for himself, he allows Zach to compete for her, and after the party they all decide that rather than choose, they'll just share Taylor via a threesome. And wow...St. Clare knows how to write some scorchingly hot sex... I just wish that this had been one werewolf story where the alpha male didn't decide on his one mate in all the world in the first chapter, and that the girl didn't fold like wet tissue paper by the end of the first chapter. Even St. Clare couldn't make this trope new or interesting for me. I actually considered putting it in my DNF stack. So...lesson learned, no more werewolf stories...:)I gave it 3 stars because St. Clare comes up with a great little plot twist at the end, and the story is definitely better than 'just ok.' This was a hot short read! Mikhal and Zach leave their pack when it becomes apparent that Mikhal is showing more Alpha tendencies. They set out on their own to form a new pack, but instead decide to join the human world. From the moment they both lay eyes on Taylor, their inner beasts start to rage for dominance to claim a mate. This causes some pretty hot scenes, but acting out on their mutual desires for one another takes a decidedly different twist a year later. With two Alpha's and their submissive Beta, they form an even stronger unbreakable bond as a new pack.
