About book Nerd Do Well (2010)

I will start out by saying I am a big fan of Simon Pegg's work. So I am a little biased when it comes to this book. If you are looking for gossip, this isn't the book for you. In nerd do well Mr. Pegg tells of how is interest in acting started to his influences from sketch comedy troupes to films and directors. He blends these stories with a fictional Bond-esq style story of Pegg and his artificial intelligent side kick Canterbury. A good quick read that I would recommend to anyone. I was really enjoying Simon's personal account of his life and how he got into film. What surprised me most was his wit and language, which was a lot smarter than I guess I gave him credit for. The biggest upset was it very abrupt ending. Just as he is getting into his story of filming Burke and Hare with John Landis, he suddenly says, "that's enough" and wraps the whole thing up. Somewhere out there is another half a book that didn't end up in this one. I'd be happy to read it, but the tone of this memoir led me to believe Pegg was extremely reluctant to write this in the first place. A good effort, I'd be very interested in reading more by him, fiction or non.
