About book Naked Truth (2008)

Thsi book is about a woman who, at 19 was diagnosed with HIV. Although she was diagnosed with HIV, she was hopeful that she could beat it but she had a hard time adjusting to the medicine & felt different than others. A lot of people in her home town didn't know about HIV & she wanted to raise awarness about it. Through the book, she struggled to find who she is as a person & in the end she feels ie she has a purpose, a reason wwhy she has HIV, & that is to warn others about the dangers & get people more informed about this disease. I made all my nieces and nephews and any other person that I could read this book. So many people (including the author) think that it will never happen to them or worst yet, don't think at all! Uh, well it did. It's so important to educate, educate, and educate some more! Having said that, I really feel that Miss Brown didn't fully appreciate the gravity of her situation. She just came across as being rather shallow. To be fair, she is rather young but her demeanor was a turn-off. Overall, I think this could be adequate teaching material.
