Nádherné, silné, nepopsatelné. Já prostě nemám slov. Doufám, že se mi podaří napsat recenzi, protože mě tato kniha doopravdy dostala. Meg a její věrné přátelství vůči Anně. A samozřejmě samotná Anna Boleynová a její tragický konec. A vlastně celý závěr. Ne, celá kniha od prologu po závěrečný rozhovor s autorkou. Všichni si to musí přečíst! A nutno dodat, že mám odteď velkou chuť přečíst si další knížky, o nichž autorka mluví v závěru, o Tudorovcích a jejich době. Well-written but frustrating if you know the history of Protestantism in England. Anne Boleyn's religion is portrayed inaccurately, as is the state of the reformist church of the time. For example, a major point on the religious side of this story is how Anne acts as a beacon for the "salvation by faith alone" belief. Unfortunately for the writer, we know with complete certainty that Anne did not believe in this: she instead believed fervently in salvation by good works and spoke of it constantly, even at her execution. Also, the writer has another character leave the priesthood, an impossibility under Henry VIII. In fact, the religion depicted here is far more 21st century American conservative Christianity than 1530s Church in England.This isn't the first inspirational novel I've read that had blatant falsehoods in it. One wonders how the writers fail to see that factual accuracy - basing the story on what is or was, not on what makes one comfortable or justifies one's beliefs - is the only cornerstone of truth.
