About book My Nest Isn't Empty, It Just Has More Closet Space: The Amazing Adventures Of An Ordinary Woman (2009)
This is an enjoyable and light read, full of candor and humorous self-reflection. Primarily vignettes of the mother, Lisa Scottoline but it also includes those of the daughter, Francesca Scottoline Serritella...and yes, the strong Italian female background of each plays prominently throughout, especially when describing Mother (Grandmother) Mary. This book should appeal especially to strong, independent women who need no man to define themselves and the liberated men who adore them. Ha. I read all four of these books over the summer, and I think this one may have been my favorite. The books were adapted from "Chick Wit" columns written for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Usually funny anecdotes or random observations, the books made me laugh - this one the most. Short chapters, easy to pick up and put down, light and entertaining. (Although they can be read out of order, the first is "Why My Third Husband Will Be A Dog.")

A fun, quick read. I always enjoy Lisa's compilations of her Chick Wit newspaper column from Philly.
