This is an inspiring little book filled with quotations from Gordon and Marjorie Hinckley. What makes it really special, though, is that each quote is paired with a beautiful painting from a contemporary LDS artist. Together the artwork and the text reinforce that Heavenly Father loves his daughters, and that we (amidst our busyness in being wives, mothers, and learners in the world) are doing an important work in moving forward the kingdom. What an encouraging and uplifting book. Gordon B. Hinckley has always publically expressed his awe for and appreciation of women and this book puts his words to beautiful art. 'Woman is God's supreme cretion. Only after the earth had been formed, after the day had been separated from the night, after the waters had been divided from the land, after vegetation and animal life had been reated, and after man had been placed on the earth, was woman created; and only then was the work pronounced complete and good.'In this book he reminds us as women to educate ourselves, encourage our husbands and families, to be happy, not to waste time on trivial things while our babies grow so quickly. He wonders what a different place our world would be if every woman treasured her child as a jewel. If every home had a nurturing and caring mother. I love that he tells young women that they have the potential to become absolutely anything they set their minds to. That with their minds, bodies, and spirits working together, they can walk high roads that lead to achievement and happiness. I also love that he recognizes our desire and instinct to reach out in love to those in distress and need. This is who I am. I care, I love, it makes me happy to take care of and help those that are in need.
