About book Multitasken Bestaat Niet (Als Je Alles Tegelijk Doet, Krijg Je Niets Voor Elkaar) (2009)

A nice idea, and there is some insight to be gained here, but the execution is pretty weak. The format of explaining the concept in the form of a narrative story doesn't really work. The prose is fairly painful at times, the writer is definitely a better business analyst than a writer of fiction. Also, the book is pretty light on actual content. The point the author is trying to get across is a good one, and it has inspired me to make some changes to the way my schedule is structured, but I would have preferred more practical advice than a good idea wrapped is weak narrative. You don't need to read this book, because he only says three things:1) Only computers can multitask (and not very well). Humans should not even try.2) Meet with the people in your life who need your time on regular intervals so they're not stressed by not having your immediate attention. 3). Let people know when you will have time for them, e.g. "post office hours," so they'll save interruptions until then.
