About book Mother Of God: An Extraordinary Journey Into The Uncharted Tributaries Of The Western Amazon (2014)

A must read for someone who believes in the 'pledge for the green', this book is a paragon because of Paul's unique style of narration garnished with such minute details that it catches the reader off guard and transports to the land of the Anacondas, probably on one of the Tamandua Trails with the team. The language used has a panache of its own and at the same time encompasses the entire encyclopedia of the naturalists for the layman. If you think that your aim is to save wildlife and if you are cribbing for the lack of opportunities, this is a bible for you. Paul's intense passion would make you hitch a ride towards your dream. 10/10. I was fortunate enough to have spent 2 months in Las Piedras and Paul's book took me back there. HIs description of this remarkable place is spot on and with every page you turn, you get a whiff of the rainforest. As with the rainforest, alive with smells, sounds and colours, Paul's book too, is alive, with passion, with adventure and sense of belonging. Brilliant journey of the man who found his Shangri La and is willing to give and do anything to protect it and preserve it not just for us all.
