About book Morning Glories Vol. 5 - Assenti Ingiustificati (2000)
This series is the Lost of comics. For every time an answer is given, more questions are raised, and it seems like it's never going to be able to resolve everything fully. The story takes a bit more form here, as the separate sides are developed a little more (along with lots of religious parallels), but it's still a lot of loose threads that don't seem to be coming together much at all. And I'm sorry, but the book prides itself on how all its characters look distinct, but three of the female characters look exactly the same to me. All the jumping back and forth in time doesn't help. There's enough cohesiveness for some semblance of the story to come through, and furthering the overall story, but it just feels intentionally obtuse, to the point that I doubt it will ever resolve clearly. Questions answered? No, not really. A few small questions perhaps, but none of the really big questions like what the fuck is this school really about? I beginning to get frustrated with this series, and the fact that they've cranked up even more the jumping around in time aspect, is only making it more frustrating. If this were the only book I was reading, and I wasn't ever watching any shows or movies, so my mind could only worry about this book and this story, then maybe I could piece it all together without confusion.Now - 25 years ago - 7 years later - now - elsewhere - 4 years ago - now - 4 years ago - now - 2 years ago - now - Holy Fucking Jesus how am I supposed to actually keep that all straight. And I didn't even get all the way through the second issue.
