I enjoyed this book. It has a great storyline with Evie and Benedict. He is a spy and she is a tomboy and horse crazed. I enjoyed the whole Moore quirky family. Poor Richard having 4 younger sisters. I am a historical romance freak but I like a steamy and hot couple that heat up the pages. This book is what I call a clean romance. I will still read Erin Knightley's books because the storyline is good. I give this book 3 fingers up and 6 toes. I felt so bad for Evie. She fell in love with Hastings over the years that they wrote to each other and never met, but Hastings had to go do some undercover work so he cut off their relationship in a harsh way.Years later, Hastings is in hiding and runs to his best friend (brother to Evie) for help. Not telling his friend the whole story, but thinking he can go to the country and wait out some of his problems. He didn't realize the friend's family had not left the country yet for London (for the season).He finally meets Evie and she is beautiful and smart and amazing. He gives her a false name (so she won't realize who he is) and the friend follows along. He always cared for her and was falling for before through the letters, but now that he met her he has completed fallen. He didn't think she would forgive him when she finds out who he really is.Evie didn't want to go to London. After what happened with Hastings she didn't want to marry (and definitely open herself for more hurt). When she meets Benedict has an immediate connection. There are plenty of adventures between Evie finding out who he really is and the issues he is hiding from.
3.5 stars. I think I prefer Erin Knightley's novellas, but this was pretty good as well.
