Samantha Moon is a private investigator with a secret. Though she now has access to magic that let's her exist in the sunlight, she is still very much a creature of darkness. When a case gets personal and threatens her and her family, Sam has to face something darker than she ever imagined. She has friends that help her through, but has to make some hard sacrifices. I love this series and cannot wait to read the next. Samantha Moon has just been hired to investigate a death that occurred a year ago at a family’s annual reunion. She is reluctant to take the job, because it seems odd that a person from the Pacific Northwest would hire a private investigator from California. While privately asking questions of the family without them realizing her motives, she ends up investigating a new death on the island as a storm approaches. Sam is starting to believe that there is more to this family then she originally knew about and suddenly a simple investigation pulls in possible connections to her family and friends.Moon Island is the seventh book in the Vampire for Hire series. After quickly reading books 5 and 6 before this, I was happy to experience a different turn of events. Rain outdid herself in pulling in facets of the previous books to show relevance in this continuing story. This quick read kept me returning for more tidbits about Sam and how she was going to get out of this very sticky situation. I know there is at least one more book to arrive in this series and I look forward to reading about more adventures of this vampiric investigator.
another brilliant book in the Samantha moon series I absolutely love these books, I'm so hooked
