Setelah melewati berbagai kejadian melalui kemampuan hipnotismenya, Molly Moon berjanji pada Rocky, sahabatnya, untuk tidak menghipnotis orang lagi. Selain itu, hilangnya Davina Nuttell, bintang cilik yang perannya di ‘Bintang-Bintang di Mars’ digantikan oleh Molly ketika ia berada di New York. Ternyata Primo Cell juga seing menghipnotis para bintang terkenal agar mereka mau menjadi model iklan produk yang dimiliki Primo Cell. Singkatnya, Primo Cell hampir menguasai seluruh public figure, mulai dari bintang film Hollywood sampai politisi.Berangkatlah Molly, beserta sebagian penghuni Happiness House – termasuk Mrs. Trinklebury dan Mr. Nockman – ke Los Angeles, tempat markas Primo Cell berada. Ketika sampai di Los Angeles, kota itu sedang sibuk mempersiapkan ajang akbar malam anugerah Piala Oscar. Molly dan Rocky segera mencari cara agar mereka bisa masuk ke dalam tempat acara itu diadakan, karena mereka yakin bisa bertemu dengan bintang-bintang yang sudah dihipnotis Primo Cell.Ternyata, tidak semudah itu membebaskan mereka dari pengaruh hipnotis Primo Cell. Otak dan benak mereka benar-benar terkunci dan hanya bisa dibuka dengan kata kunci tertentu. Secara kebetulan, mereka bertemu dengan Primo Cell. Dan ternyata, wajah Molly sudah tidak asing bagi pemirsa tv, pertama karena perannya di ‘Bintang-Bintang di Mars’ dan juga karena iklan layanan masyarakat yang dibuatnya bersama Rocky. Mereka berdua diundang untuk makan malam di rumah Primo Cell. Mereka menggunakan kesempatan ini untuk menyelidiki ruang-ruang di rumah Primo Cell.Tugas Molly Moon kali ini lebih sulit daripada yang ia duga. Berbeda dengan Mr. Nockman yang penghipnotis amatir, Primo Cell lebih tangguh dan kejam. AFter Molly Moon's recent adventure in New York, she heads off to L.A. to find out more about Primo Cell, a mad hypnotist who plans to become the President of the US and dominate the world. After being filled in with a few details from Lucy Logan, a 'good' librarian who hypnotized Molly to find the Hypnotism book, Molly and her friend Rocky break into Primo's office and realizes that Primo has the whole police and army force under his control. Not only that but he had hypnotized many of Hollywood's famous stars to advertise his products so that he can make even more money. Molly also finds a newfound power that she posses, she can freeze time for many minutes when need be. After almost being killed by Primo, Molly finally hypnotizes Primo only to find out that Primo has been hypnotized by an even bigger menance, Lucy Logan.After finding out that Lucy Logan is also her mother and Primo Cell is her father, Molly Moon confronts Lucy Logan and hypnotizes 'her' to become a better person. Molly finds out that 'Lucy' Logan is not really Lucy Logan but Lucy's evil twin brother. The day ends with Molly Moon saving the day and using her hypnotic powers for good.This Molly Moon book is something that held my attention for very, very long periods of time. I am looking forward to read the next to books in the series.

IF YOU LIKED THIS TRY... Second one in the series. Georgia Byng does a good job with this one despite the fact that it's about yet another orphan who discovers her own powers. Like the big one in this category, Harry Potter, it's got a lot of characters to keep track of, any of whom may turn out to be Other Than What You Thought. The problem is once Byng gets a taste of pulling the rug out from under you she can't stop, and you learn practically everyone in this story is under the control

The 2nd book in the Molly Moon series and a wonderful, action-packed adventure for children and adults alike! I read this book before the first one, because I owned it and I absolutely loved it, which made me go straight out hunting for the first one in the series. The plot certainly isn't dull as the protagonist Molly finds herself in more than a few dangerous situations and you find yourself not wanting to put the book down becuse of the full suspense! A certain re-read, and one I will treasure in order to read to my future children, whom I very much hope will enjoy as much as I did!

Había visto estos libros en la entrada del Vips, al lado de otros con muy mala pinta igual... pero me llamaba la atención ese perro en la portada. ¿Era posible que Molly Moon fuera un perro? Pues bien, ya leí el libro y no. Ese perro es perra y se llama Pétula (muy raro el nombre). Lamentablemente no encontré el primero, así que no supe de qué iba la primera parte. En el segundo me encuentro con un breve resumen de las aventuras de Molly durante el primer libro y con una promesa de no volver a hipnotizar. Cosa que no sucede (porque si no, no habría libro).Tal parece que no es la primera vez que Molly decide viajar a los Estados Unidos, así que en esta ocasión vuelve a suceder, pero ahora acompañada de todo el orfanato. En este segundo libro Molly tratará de vencer a un hombre que está tratando de dominar los Estados Unidos y de ahí el mundo mediante la hipnosis. El libro estuvo entretenido y bastante pasable.
