About book Mobster's Girl (2012)

This is a fabulous book. The first thing I did after reading it was to buy Awakening the Mobster: Mobster's Series Book 2, by the same author, Amy Rachiele. She has written the story from two points of view, that of Antonio and Megan, we enter and live their lives. We read about an action on the part of Antonio, then read about Megan's reaction. We see what they see, do what they do and feel what they feel.Antonio and Megan love each other, but barriers always seem to be in the way. Their futures are planned by their parents to take different directions. This story is romance, a plot with many twists and as one could expect with mobsters, drama with lots of violence -- a roller coaster of an emotional ride. I recommend this to everyone. So, I will be the first to admit that there are still quite a few grammar and spelling errors in the version I read and this usually makes me absolutely insane. However, I will say that this story was different enough to have me overlooking most of them without a second glance. Although some of the writing felt new authorish and choppy to me, I was incredibly pleased to see that this story really was different from others. There are no apologies given for Antonio's way of life....he is simply the mob boss' son doing what he has to do for the family. Personally, I find that really refreshing because so many books focus on people trying to return to a good place after enduring something difficult. Antonio has no plans to do that, he just is what he is. I was a little confused though on how Megan could be so oblivious to what it was that he was doing when Antonio was out working for his dad. Hello....he is the mob boss' son! What do you think he is doing? Anyway, I enjoyed the fact that my thoughts on Megan's father were on target in a much bigger way than I anticipated and it did explain a more about their reluctance to allow her to be near Antonio and his friends. Overall, I am happy that I read this book and I am looking forward to reading more about Antonio and Megan. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
