Listened to this VERY brief autobiography via Audio book.I must admit that I thought this book would be more of a personal account of Stephen's life with less Blackhole and Cosmology theory. I realise after listening to this book, that I do not know that much about our world and universe and it was fascinating to consider so many subjects like Time Travel, Imaginary Time (a brain melting topic) and Blackholes.Stephen has led an extraordinary life and I had the expectation that he would go more into depth about this, so the book did let me down on that front. Although his explanation of the above theories were probably in his view "user friendly", a couple of times I honestly had no clue what he was describing. I think this is a book where I should read and it will give me the opportunity to write notes down to research. A fun, quick read that serves as autobiography and scientific summary of his life's work. The audiobook edition has the synthesized voice of Hawking for a few sentences taken over by a crisp English-accented reader. This book filled in some gaps from the PBS special on Hawking and the short movie, but left out some of the personal details of those videos. Hawking cannot be separated from his work, and he can get very technical, especially in his recent work on time travel that left me a bit confused. If you've read or at least started "A Brief History of Time" (recently listed as one of the least finished books), then you'll find this book of interest.
