The Killer Instincts series is developing nicely! I liked the first two books in the series but this one really drew me in. The relationship between Trevor and Isabel has been building over the last two books and is finally realized in this installment. Ms. Kennedy writes an excellent story, definitely kept me guessing. This story pulls in enough story lines for future books in the series without making the book more about the minor stories than about Trevor and Isabel. I will say I am looking forward to the books about Ethan and Morgan, but I hope there is one coming to get the story on D and let him get knocked on his ass by some woman. This is the 3rd book in the series. It was really, really good. It moved all the relationships forward, set up things for the next book, just a little. It had its own awesome adventure plot with shocking twists at the end. The romance(s) are HOT HOT HOT in this series. I've been reading the series in preparation for the next book in the series coming out April 1st, Midnight Pursuits which I just started. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres and this is a fantastic series. I care about the characters. I enjoy reading the books, learning more about characters as each book has the focus on another couple, at least, and also seeing the characters again in future books. The books do a good job of making all the characters real and dimensional, not just the main couple. That's a key for me. There's a touch of humor but more HOT. I like the intellectual piece of figuring out the puzzles of the missions, too. The books work for me. 4.5 stars.
