About book Midnight Crystal (Harmony, #7) (Arcane Society, #9) (2010)
I liked Marlowe Jones and Gibson. She is a strong female character, and he is a dust bunny. The Harmony books are mostly light, fun, fast reads which appealed to me this week. Other than the first two, each book can be read as an 'only,' since the author has backstory strategically placed, but the reader's curiosity will be tweaked by the references to other couples. The instant love is annoying, but explained well. And who can resist the dust bunnies?? I'm beginning to think that I don't get on with the "Jayne Castle" futuristic stories. Whilst I'm quite happy with Quick's historicals and Krentz's contemporaries. But as a fan of hard SF, I found Castle's world building a bit thin and really not all that distinguishable from a contemporary with "rez-" added in throughout.I also thought the dreamlight trilogy was a bit weak. Hence this book really didn't work for me. YMMV.I like romance. I like SF. Why can't I find an SF romance I get on well with? :S
