The first two acts of this books were really compelling. There's a boy who sees demons. Then there's the child psychologist who's convinced he's schizophrenic and not really seeing demons. Are the demons real? Are they imaginary? The characters are well developed and it's a well written story. As the book progresses we get more insight into both Alex, the boy, and Anya, the doctor. Then the third act happens. Prior to this third act, I was thinking a solid three stars or maybe even four. But sheesh... This is one of those out of left field, no way you could have seen it coming endings that I hate. Did the author wake up when she was writing this book and say "I'm going to write the ending to a different book and just throw it in there to see if anyone will notice"? Did she have her own episode? Maybe the demons are real and they made her write that third act as payment for something they'd done. Or maybe I'm just missing something.
Do You like book Mi Amigo El Demonio (2012)?
The writing and story were well above average, but a very disappointing resolution.
