About book Margarets Frihet (2012)

All Different Kinds of Free draws you into the story, with conflict the entire story. It's more than a story of slavery, it's a story of a Supreme Court decision regarding states rights regarding crossing state lines to 'retrieve' slaves. Besides a good read, it seems to be thoroughly researched and well written. The story will stay with you. The total injustice and unfairness of slavery comes vividly to the forefront. But at the core is a great character through whom we see a different world. This book was incredibly hard to read, and not due to the author's style. Any book that attempts to accurately depict the horrors of slavery and the atrocious behavior of those that supported slavery are always uncomfortable to read. The author did a great job of fleshing out the characters to make me care about what happened to them. This book had me cringing and crying as I read. Would recommend this as a must read.
