‘Mama does Time’ is the first book in this series. It’s based on a southern Mama with three adult daughters. Maddie is the oldest child is controlling. Mace is the middle child and the narrator. Marty is the youngest child and is usually quiet and alluring to the opposite sex. Mama and Mace are not currently married. Mama gets picked up for suspicion of murder when a dead body is found in her trunk. Mace questions people all over town trying to clear her Mama’s name and nearly loses her life trying to save her Mama. It is a quirky, light, and cozy mystery set in Florida and I think I liked it. This is a fun start to a series. Definitely a different side to Florida! Mama is a hoot! I liked the characters, the pace and the humor. Mace is a good main character, very human. I am intrigued by Marty, we watch her petals start to unfurl throughout the book. Have to watch those quiet ones! I hope she continues to grow. The mystery was fast paced, lots of action as well as good characters. I will have to read more in the series.
