About book Magic And The Modern Girl (The Jane Madison Series) (2008)
Ok, of the three Jane Madison books, this was my least favourite :(. I found the whole thing with Ariel unnecessary, and slightly confusion as well. I couldn't get a grasp on what her real purpose was. I mean, I understood that she was created in order to harness Jane's powers again, but I just thought her entire existence was pointless. Though, I love the name. I enjoyed her relationship with Will. I suppose I am a hopeless romantic... but I really enjoyed experiencing their connection. I really had to push myself to finish the book. Unfortunately, the only word I can use to describe it, is boring. I thought this was the last book in the series but at the end of it, she writes: "Jane and David seem settled for a while, but there's still some magic being discovered in this world. Don't miss Mindy Klasky's new book coming next year There's The Rub" so I'm thinking there's another book that's going to focus much more on the relationship with David and Jane, which I WOULD enjoy reading about. A good book, entertaining. It is the sequal to another. The characters aren't quite as well developed as I would have liked, but it was still a good beach read. A lot of dragging on in this story, not much action until the end. There's a lot of jumping around - a little story development and then you get ahead in the story quite a bit without much explanation. Like I said, a good read but not something that really grips you.
