About book Lunch In Paris: A Love Story, With Recipes (2010)
Book Club 1 4+ out of 5I highly recommend this tasty little book. First it's full of delicious recipes, I've tried a few and they work and taste great. Second it's a love story, I love anything with some amore but it also shows how two cultures combined to work. Third it's FUNNY, she's hilarious! Fourth it gives you an understanding of the French and their culture, why they are the way they are and the glaring differences from our American culture; this was very eye opening. Lastly - fifth, it tells you why French women are thin - I never read that other book so this helped and hopefully I can incorporate French women's ways into my daily habit. This book should be made into a movie. I really enjoyed this book, about a North American woman Elizabeth and her French Husband Gwendal. It gives us an insight into what she went through to adjust to living in France, finding friends, the language, work, fitting in in her neighborhood in general. It also gives us her take on the differences between the US way of thinking and the French way of thinking. She learned to cook and has some amazing recipes for us to try. Her writing style flowed really well and kept me interested in her story.
