The setting was cool - Austin, TX - and of course I loved the FNL reference, BUT...- I couldn't relate to Priscilla aka Quinn. She was queen at judging people and stereotyping, which I, like most people, tend to do as well but I got so annoyed with her "Supreme" guy vision. - I was confused by Russ. Was he supposed to be a hottie cowboy or a douche-y frat boy? Never have I heard of a guy who is both. The two stereotypes just don't fit together. I can't see a country guy who listens to Loretta Lynn also wear a polo shirt and cargo shorts. I just didn't like his development and how the other characters seemed to picture him.- The plot had some cute little parts: I really liked Jade, Chrissy turned out to be a badass roller derby chick, and I love that Penny's way to 'keep Austin weird' was by making her dog be a cross-dresser. Those little things were good but overall the story was highly predictable.I wanted to like this book more. I don't know; maybe I'm not in the mood for cheesy romantic novels right now! This book was actually pretty good. I never actually read a full synopsis of this book so I kind of just read it and hoped that it would be good. There wasn't really anything specific that made me want to keep on reading. Although I did finish this book in one sitting, but that was probably due tot he fact that it's a pretty quick read. So I definitely recommend this as a quick, easy and light summer read. The only thing I didn't particularly like was Sebastian he was a real douche, but other than I really enjoyed the book.
Do You like book Lovestruck Summer (2009)?
