The first day on the job with the FBI and Nicholas Drummond and Mike Caine are sent to investigate a mugging that occurred on Federal property. While there, someone recognizes the mugger standing in the crowd and the agents begin a chase that ends in death to him due to a hidden toxic poison pellet inside his mouth. At this point, we find out he was on a sinister mission to get some information and he was unable to complete his task. However, there is another agent in England killing someone in high places and a family friend of Drummond. This is a fast-paced book. I read it in a day on the weekend. Once again, the editing is something that the publisher is not investing in humans because the errors would be caught, I believe, I.e. wrong word completely. It's a shame because it is a distraction from the book at times because it interrupts ones flow of reading to consider which wording or word best fits. A wild ride with suspense laced in with some comic relief. Nicholas and Mike are a great team and likable, you can't help but cheer them on. A definite twist on the powers of Marie Curie and nail-biting ending. This book is so well-written, so captivating and thought-provoking. The Highest Order doesn't really exist but....ummm, who's to say. Definitely awaiting anxiously for book three in this series but they dropped the bomb at the end of this book and need to find out what is going on with Savich and Sherlock. Love the way the two series intertwine.
