You know... I wish this series would just end. JUST STAHP ALREADY! It's pretty rare that I find reading "The Walking Dead" to be a satisfying way to pass the time anymore. Rick et. al. make plans, the plans get fucked up, lots of people die, rinse and repeat. That's it. That is all this series has EVER been, and nothing seems to be changing on that front. Yet, I can't stop checking out the latest volume from the library because I want to know how it ends. I'm sure it won't have some sort of clean and happy ending, but I'm just ready for this story to be over... Goodreads has the phrase "What did you think?" above this box every time you type in a review.The thing with Walking Dead? I didn't think much. I mean, it was fine, it moved the story forward about the normal amount. But the second I closed the book, that was it. I haven't thought about it since I did that and started typing this.More and more it definitely feels like Walking Dead needs to be read at the pace of 3 trades at a time. I can't imagine reading it month-to-month as even the slim trades seem to not offer quite enough meat.It's not really a criticism of the story, I suppose. Really, I wish that the publishing world were more flexible. I feel pretty strongly that Walking Dead, as a series, has seen enough success to write its own ticket, and I'd like to see it published in whatever format it's meant to be read. Maybe that means compendiums, omnibi, individual issues of varying lengths, whatever. I just can't help but notice they have more and more formats for the same stories, but I'm not really sure about the best way to read.Content should dictate format when it comes to books. That's the summary here.

Another good installment of the Walking Dead.The good: Noticeable improvements in the artwork, some great father and son moments between Rick and Carl, a great narration from Ezekiel (I believe it was the first one ever in the comics), probably the most fantastic moment for Maggie in the entire series, and an exciting ending.The bad: None of the deaths were particularly great, and one of them left me appalled with its predictability. Nonetheless, that death did lead to the excellent ending, and drove home the point that Negan is ever unmerciful.Overall, I give this a solid 7.5 out of 10.
