A very minimal graphic novella, Werewolves of Montpellier was an enjoyable read that never really elevated itself beyond expectations. Sven dresses like a werewolf and steals things during full moons. He reasons that his disguise will buy him a few seconds because everyone fears werewolves. Then the real werewolves of Montpellier find out and are not happy someone is impersonating their ranks. The story also features a pretty depressing love story between Sven and his neighbor. All in all it's a good premise that turns out a decent story. I was expecting a little bit more. This book is excellent. How you know real quality is when you can see so much done with so little. The artwork is simple and panels are quite sparse, the dialogue manages to feel real while not being overused, and the book itself is quite short, yet this is easily one of the best comics I've read recently. It is done so well it can convey so much, you feel like you are getting real people, real characters, even when the plot is silly. Honestly, try it, it's excellent.
