About book Lock, Stock, And Over A Barrel (2013)

Daphne had huge dreams when she graduated college and headed to New York City to become the New York Times best reporter ever. After years of writing the wedding announcements she returns home to Appleton, to attend the funeral of her Aunt Daphne. After learning that Aunt Daphne was secretly a well known romance author and advice columnist , she inherits her home and column. This book has a great Christian background but does not interfere with the story line or the characters. I wanted the book to have several more chapters but I guess I'll have to wait for book two in the Dear Daphne series. I just hope it's not too long. 3 STARS (I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review).Daphne's life in New York and working at The New York Times is not going the way she had first envisioned. Her best friend is married and having her first baby and looking for a new house. When Daphne's Aunt Dee dies she rushes home for the funeral. She soon discovers she has been left Aunt Dee's estate but it comes with conditions. These conditions must be met within the next year if she wishes to keep her new life back home. This book is described as "Christian Literature" but isn't heavy on religion (or preachy) at all. I cannot describe too much about the novel as there is some surprises that might be revealed. I will say this is a light low action contemporary romance with light humour.

Another great book from my favorite author. I can't wait for the second one to come out.

Charming, although eye-rolling at times. Easy read and Daphne is rather likable.
