Loved this one! I cried a lot in the beginning and really loved Ben and Kay together. For the first time, I really enjoyed the Best Friend! She wasn't over the top, ditzy and dumb like most are. She really has her friends back and it was just great to see in a supporting character. I will say the last 30% did go a little slow for me. It felt like an extended Epilogue and when I got to the end and saw there was an actual Epilogue, I groaned out loud. I will say that I did love this one and it's worth the read! Get your tissues ready and be prepared to bawl your eyes out! LL Collins has written the most heart breaking and love conquers all romance that I have ever read! I am so completely in love with this book!Kayley married her college best friend, Alex. They both are physical therapists. They buy a house and start a family. It’s a normal everyday dream come true for these two. That is until Kayley has her hearted ripped from her body when her husband Alex dies in a car crash a month before their first born child is due to enter the world. The first four chapters of the book had me crying so hard! I think I went through a whole big box of tissues and was left a mushy mess! Kayley delivers her baby girl and feels so alone without Alex by her side while she pushes their first born into the world. The first year is a big struggle for her being a widow and a new mom.It does get better for Kayley but she has given up on living for her and instead dedicates everything she has to her daughter, Alexis. On the one year anniversary of Alex’s death, she finally says goodbye. Her friends and family throughout attempt to get Kayley to move on with her life, but she doesn’t think she’ll ever be able to love again.Tragedy strikes at Alexis’ first birthday that changes her whole life. This is when she meets Dr. Yummy also known as Dr. Ben Nichols. He is the ER pediatric doctor that takes care of Alexis. He feels an instant pull towards Kayley and with the help of Kayley’s best friend, Emily, he wiggles his way into her life. Kayley tries to fight her feelings for Ben because of the guilt in her heart for trying to be happy again after losing Alex. Ben is a very persistent man and eventually Kayley lets go and begins living again. Ben is a dream come true for any lucky gal. He comes into Kayley’s life just as damaged but in another way. Together, they fight their past demons and love whole heartedly. Ben and little Alexis are so funny together. It made my heart smile to read their interactions. I cried; I laughed; and I fell completely in love with their story. Everybody needs to read this book! I can’t wait to jump into Reaching Rachel and see what LL Collins has in store for me in this book! I’ll make sure to keep my tissues handy just in case!
