i thought this book was interesting and kinda weird too, i thought it was messed up how her mother put her own child through the crap she went through when she was her daughter's age. and on top of all that she sold her daughter's virginity to a white man, just so they could be on their feet, the little girl's name was johnnie, as she got older she started to like the sex with the man, and he paid her every time.. but it was kinda sad when her mother was murdered by a man, that she had been seeing, she tried to blackmail him just so he could buy her a house closer to her daughter. that ended badly and her mom died, to get revenge, the daughter, her boyfriend and their friends murdered the man who killed the woman, johnnie was finally happy. but she still had stuff to go through, dealing with her boyfriend's jealousy that his girl would open her legs to a guy that he hated, but he don't undestand that she only did it to save his life. before her mom died, she always told her that a man will do anything for some free sex, from a woman, he would even lie to her. and when her mom was a little girl they were mad at her cause she was pretty, that was called jealousy, they were jealous of johnnie's grandma, her and they are jealous of johnnie now. but so she care? nah.. after her mom died, she felt liek she was free of her mom.. but she did miss her, more then anything. and felt that is was wrong for her to be killed that way. all she wanted to do was be closer to her child. now she wont ever see her again.. maybe in the next life. to sum it all up, i think the book was great, the details, the characters and most of all the person who wrote it. whatever inspired him to write a book like this, i hope he keeps writing.
IntrospectionsEarly 1950's in New Orleans we have a budding beauty Little Miss Johnnie "Wise" her very name is golden, and no one has yet to realize that this little miss is more than a sight for sore eyes! With a heart pure as gold, and a voice filled with praise Miss Wise is a child of God, and all she wants is to live accordingly. God bless the children! That is until that rainy Christmas Eve. Miss Johnnie Wise innocence is loss forever thanks to the lust of a well known child molester, and a devious mother. A mother who in her own sick mind thought that she was sparing her child's heart! Did the ends justify the means? Was I not a good Christian? Miss Wise pondered why she'd been lead astray. It wasn't even her who initiated the sin, yet Miss Johnnie Wise would have to incur the ridicule and try to understand the way of the world with or without God. As Miss Johnnie Wise realized that she held the note for the most delectable "brown sugar" in New Orleans she uses her senses to profit utilizing her astonishing gift. As jealousy steals her mothers life Johnnie Wise realizes that maybe it's too much. Or is it? She's found a secure new love in young Lucas, while maintaining her stocks, balancing her insurance, and the protection of the mob Miss Wise will ultimately school the onlookers. This is a very detailed book filled with painstaking truths, lust, betrayal, and more importantly greed! Will Little Miss Wise be triumphant in the end?
Do You like book Little Black Girl Lost (2005)?
Well ; this book was AWSOME ! I loved this book because it had a lot of drama pain happiness that i can relate too. It was also helping me with my vocabulary because of all the BIG WORDS in the book. Thiss book is about a girl who was brought into prostitution at a young age. She used it to her advantage. Then with all the money she made she started being smart so that she can be VERY wealthy. I dont recomend this book to people who cant be mature about real life situations. The climax of the plot made sence because it could really happen. The genre of this book is my kind of genre because i like the books to be interesting and wantinq to read more. I rate this book as a 5 because it deserves it. I was one of my favorite book out of the whole year.

The cliche goes, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade." When Johnnie Wise--a teenaged, churchgoing, well-behaved young woman--is prostituted to Earl Shamus, her character dramatically changes. She becomes a cunning, manipulating, and sexually voracious individual hell-bent on exacting revenge for her mother's death, despite her hatred for her morally inept mother. Karma caught up to her mother, but will it catch up to Johnnie, too? This book was introduced to be by a friend, and I can't wait to read the next in the series. I read it in 3 days.

Not typically the type of book I read, I found it in a bookstore and purchased it because it was by an aa author and it was only a few bucks. After reading a long and detailed bio about Ethel Waters and continuing a book about the freedom riders I needed something easy to read so I picked it up from my stash of reading material. I have to say it was a fun read; not at all challenging and a story line that had some truth to it but at at times left me saying yeah, right. This is the first in a series. If I can find some of the others for free I'd read them until I got tired of them.
