When I read a book like this, I can always imagine it'll be appropriate for a disney movie, without any outtakes. Don't be fooled by the cover though, it was lighter than the mean girls 2 movie, I swear. I'm a fan of these kinds of stories, so i really loved it. I even imagined some characters in celebrities while I'm reading it. Like Taylor Lautner for Matt, Lily Collins for April, Nicholas Hoult for McGerk and Sara Paxton for Britney. LOL(SPOILERS ALERT)The story was about a girl who was noticed by the most popular girl in school and let her join their little popular girl club and eventually signed the "Lipstick Laws".But then she broke one of the laws and she was out of the group. She then started to create her own namely "The lipstick Lawbreakers" who had the same experience. And then they made Britney's life miserable.I think what cracks me here is the protagonist's issue on her boob size. it was the starting and the ending of the story. It was just so funny. And also Britney,she's just so hilarious when she's stupid. I think I can recommend this book even to young girls, The story was so light. And there were no like inappropriate scenes or lines in the book. But even though your older, i think you'll enjoy the book :) April Bowers is starting her Sophomore year of high school with no friends, until fate throws her and Britney Taylor together. Britney is the popular, pretty girl who thinks she rules the school. Britney and her following have something called the "Lipstick Laws" that they force April to sign and follow. The problem is that all these laws change April into something she doesn't want to be and show her what these girls are really like. When she "breaks" one of the laws, she is kicked out of the group and bullied at school, treated like a misfit. She decides to fight back and creates the "Lipstick Lawbreakers"...girls who have also been mistreated by Britney. Together they try to bring Britney down, but in the process April realizes that everyone has the potential to be a Britney and she must decide who she wants to be.This is a realistic, enjoyable read that shows the cruelty of high school. I loved April's character development. She starts as a mousy, shy, insecure girl, becomes a follower and a clone, then becomes independent and confident and mature. She also finds true friends and accepts herself and others for who they are. The book was pretty predictable and formulaic, but still a fun read with lots of humor that anyone who has been to high school should be able to relate to!
