This is packed with really fascinating stories of the Go-Go's rise to fame and mulitple falling out(s), plus some interesting observations from an addict's point of view. That said, though I love Belinda, she's not the most engaging writer in the world. Most of this book feels like she's just describing what happened from a matter-of-fact perspective, so I found it hard to get emotionally drawn in. I still liked reading it! I just wish it had a little bit more prose. Interesting enough but all the book achieved was the bursting of my adolescent fantasies for Mrs Carlisle. The self centred and egotistical nature of Carlisle was sad to read about but I guess life can be crap no matter how gorgeous you are. She has experienced so much that at times topics were skimmed over in the matter of a couple of pages whereas the fact that she or her mother made her clothes seemed to be a topic we need to know more about...I didn't.All in all a decent enough read but perhaps one for the beach.
I thought it was good. If you grew up in the 80s, you will enjoy it
