I really liked this book. I needed a break and to read something lighter between other books I've been reading. I didn't expect much going into it...just something to occupy my time. I was pleasantly surprised!!! This was such a good book about the love between a mother and her child. It also had a good romantic aspect to it...but the book didn't only focus on the romance aspect. Read it...you'll like it!! I debated between three and four stars but ended up giving it four for the author's ability to handle the emotions of all the characters in the story. The story is told in two different voices. The mother - whose story begins when she is a teen and falls in love for the first time and the daughter. The mother makes one choice that changes the lives of all those around her. The tale shows love gained, love lost, the love of family and the classic conflict between a mother and her teenage daughter. I did want to keep reading just to see what the outcome of this tale was going to be.Well done, especially for a debut novel.
I really enjoyed this book, and it definitely kept me turning the pages. Good book for a good price!
