2.5 stars. I think Violet's emotions surrounding her parents' divorce, her mom's suitors and her step-family are captured really well but some of the other characters fell short. I didn't enjoy many of the pop culture/product references (maybe I don't know enough kids but the only Converse-obsessed I know are well over 30) and it seemed that ALL of the plot lines tied up really nicely and too quickly. I'm probably just being too hard on a kid's book. Pretty good. Set in Vancouver, it is a casual account of a young girl's life after the divorce of her parents. Her parents met working in the movie/television industry and her world changes abruptly when her mom catches her dad cheating with the star of the show he is directing. Now, her dad and the new wife have moved to LA and have twin girls. She hopes that instead of the men her mom has been dating, she can write to George Clooney so that he will marry her mom.Story of a girl processing divorce, a little bit of a love interest. Good for a tween girl
