3.5 stars. It's a pretty standard war romance novel, so don't go in expecting anything amazing and groundbreaking. But for what it was, it was really pretty good. The characters are well-rounded and generally likable, the plot is swift, and the writing, while often cheesy, was not overbearing or distracting. Although the blurb suggests that the book focuses exclusively on Liz and Morgan, there are actually three main characters (Liz, Betty, and Julia) and they each get fairly equal attention in the book and each have their own sorts of romances. So yeah. It was cheesy but pretty darn decent for a romance. Give it a shot if you're like me and you like a little WWII-era fluff from time to time. Wow, what a wonderfully written debut novel from Kristina McMorris! Not only was the novel well written, it beautifully written. I was easily swept up in the scenery and emotions of the characters. I read this in two days, staying up one night until dawn, when I made myself put it down.If you enjoy good historical fiction, this novel was set during WWII, then I highly recommend "Letters From Home."
