This book definitely wasn't as good as the first one, but overall I'm quite pleased with it. The only thing that I really wish was different was that I wish that Jason had more of a chance with Mackenzie. I feel like it's trying to be a love triangle except Jason really has no chance. I also wish that Kyle would stop pushing Mackenzie away. Every time he does that, it just makes their relationship a little less sweet. And I also thought that this book should have been longer so that there could have been even more mysteries uncovered about Thornhill and Willowgrove. But like I said, overall I was happy with this book. There were plenty of Kyle-Mackenzie and Jason-Mackenzie moments which are, of course, my favorite parts of the series and I'm really excited to get to the third one. It's rare for me to like the second book in a series even better than the first, especially when the first was so good, but I really loved Thornhill! I mean, wow - everything about it was so fantastic! The prison-like setting of the rehabilitation camp gave the story a dystopian flavour, which I found utterly captivating. The plot was intriguing and the action non-stop. The various characters and their relationships with each other were unique and felt genuine.I can't wait to read book 3! I definitely recommend this series for all fans of YA fantasy fiction.
