About book Leaders Who Last (2010)

There are some great tips in this book that if applied can really assist in helping a person not burn out in ministry work. Pastor Dave Kraft has years of experience in training leaders and a passion for leadership development like no other man I have met. His insight and wisdom in long term sustainability in ministry come from years of personal experience as a missionary and minister of the Gospel. The tools, suggestions, and ideas Dave gives us in this book are a must for every leader. The biggest take away is the indicative truth behind the imperatives in the book. Kraft does not shy away from pointing out the work and reliance on the Holy Spirit to empower and sustain you through all of life. He knows that is truly the only way to have the joy and peace that only God gives. I have read many books on leadership. As someone who is weak in areas of administration and organization, my observation is that most books are written by "Type A's" who are already gifted in these areas. Their advice may be helpful to other Type A's, but not so much for the rest of us. That is NOT the case with "Leaders Who Last." Whether or not Dave Kraft is a Type A himself, he is definitely a teacher and mentor who offers very practical suggestions. He is also brief and to the point. I don't ever remember in a "how to" book getting to the end of a chapter and thinking "That's it?" - wanting a few more illustrations or examples. This is not a criticism. Kraft does not waste your time and he makes it very clear how to know if you're being a positive influence and how to improve.
