I still don't know how I ended up reading this book because I would put witchcraft books on the same list as Vampire books which I avoid just because they don't appeal to me. Nonetheless I found this an enjoyable read. The first 1/4 was a slow set up to the story, but the middle 1/2 kept me intrigued. As one of the other reviewers said, it was disappointing that the author didn't fully wrap up the story line by telling you what happened to most of the witches. Hence the 3 stars instead of 4. Finally a new novel from Susie Moloney! I wish she was a more prolific writer, I lover her style so much. This novel did not disappoint. There are not many books that I finish in 1 or 2 days, but hers are always those books. This story is about a young woman, fallen on hard times who winds up in the middle of a situation she was totally unaware of. It's suspenseful, terrifying & has great characters. I would love a sequel. If not, please write something as great very, very soon Ms. Moloney!
