About book Le Dernier Vide-Grenier De Faith Bass Darling (2014)
As a recovering clutter-er I have to say the anxiety I experienced imagining this woman giving away all her beautiful antiques made me question how far I've come and how far I still have to go. I know, it's only a novel, but the strong emotions it elicited reminded me once again, at this phase of my life, I can't take it with me. It is a good story and the lessons and final message are worth the read. However, I had trouble with the wordiness and the prose the author attempts to get into each character's head. Sometimes it felt like a writing exercise to see how prolific she could be and didn't bring the emotional connection to the characters I was looking for. For the writing and format it gets a 3, but for its strong message to me I give it a 4. This book took me by surprise . . .it took a little while to build, introducing characters and items in the garage sale, but then t took off on a wild roller coaster ride going back and forth in time with different characters as the author fleshed out her story. Once I was hooked I was really hooked and I look forward to reading something from this author again. I do ope she considers picking up where she left off with a few of the characters as there is more to discover.

A light read that slowly unfolds. Engaging characters. It is kind of like an ABC movie special.
