I'm normally not a fan of Novellas, but then again this is Sarah J Maas and it was incredible. I love the way she tells stories, much like fairytales and she sucks you in fully, to a world greatly imagined and beautiful. I loved getting to know Sam and Celeana's relationship and how it all started. They were great together. Sam had great humor and I liked the whole introduction with pirates! Looking forward to the next story! I am defs going to enjoy these short stories, since I powered through this within a hour.This was a good book to explain a little of the back story of Celaena and how good she actually is at her job and the respect that she had in her industry. It also introduced some of the other characters that we had heard about in Throne of Glass and expanded on her feelings for Sam and how they began.All in all, I think these short stories are basically just filling out Celaena's background and definitely should be read after ToG, otherwise characters would get really confusing for sure.
I did quite enjoy this novella! Celaena is arrogant, but her heart is in the right place.
