One of my fave series of all time! I adore the story and the artwork! I feel like the characters are so great in the arcs that they go through and the fantasy elements are really creative. The amount of drama was just right and so was the adventure.The only place where this manga faltered was in the ending. It was very rushed and awkward.Nonetheless I don't regret finishing this series and I still come back to it now and then. I absolutely love it. J’ai découvert cette série un peu par hasard, après en avoir entendu du bien, et je suis ravie de cette découverte. J’ai totalement adhéré à ce premier tome, que j’ai trouvé très immersif.Notre héroïne est Nakaba, une jeune princesse rousse qui ne trouve pas crédit auprès de son futur époux, précisément à cause de sa couleur de cheveux. En effet les familles royales se doivent de porter des cheveux noirs.Il existe une guerre entre deux royaumes, Senan (au nord) et Belquat (au sud) ; et ce mariage a pour but de les réconcilier, mais ce n’est pas chose aisée.En parallèle on découvre un autre type de personnages, les demi-humains, comme Caesar, mi-homme mi-chien. Ces personnages sont très mignons et attachants. L’auteur nous explique qu’elle les avait d’abord dessiné plus animaux qu’humain, mais elle a ensuite inversé la tendance, et j’avoue que j’aime beaucoup ces créatures.Les personnages sont complexes, bien construits et très attachants. J’ai pris plaisir à suivre leurs péripéties. De plus ils ont un style vestimentaire assez particulier, qui m’a totalement parlé.Enfin, les graphismes m’ont en outre beaucoup plu ; le trait est soigné, délicat, et ces dessins m’ont parlé.La série comptera treize tomes, et j’ai hâte de me procurer la suite.

Typical of Japanese Manga, story is about a princess who is married off to the prince of the rival land. She is accompanies by her "Ajin" (Half human-half animal) Loki. You can already see the dynamic of which one she is going to love. The princess is considered a black sheep because in a land where royalty only has black hair she is a red-head. Because of this, she is treated badly by other royalty and considered lower class. This is vol. 1 and I am excited to get to read vol. 2.

I don't understand why everyone is giving this such glowing reviews. The art, characters, dialogue, text... just bland. Bland bland bland and boring. There was nothing to hate about the book, but there was nothing to interest me either. I'll probably read the next few because I checked them out from the library and it took me such a short time to read this one, but *sigh*... I really really really hope they get better.
