This is one of the funniest books I have read in a long time. Alison Arngrim, who played the 'villain' Nellie Oleson on the long running television show Little House On The Prairie, details her experiences growing up in a show biz family, including being physically and sexually abused by her seriously disturbed older brother, the details of working on the show, and spills the dirt on how she really felt about her costars, Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary Ingalls) was quite a pill and Katherine MacGregor was as over the top as her character (Harriet Oleson) and Melissa Gilbert (Laura Ingalls) was a born leader and a great friend. She pulls no punches and does it all with a dry wit that made me laugh out loud at points. This is the kind of book you want to go find someone and read parts of it aloud just because the stories themselves as told through Arngrim's point of view are hilariously absurd. Although the book touches on difficult subjects, such as abuse and AIDS, Arngrim does it all without being heavy handed or over the top. Fantastic read, although I would only recommend it only for those who are familiar with LHOTP, the tv show, otherwise most of the book won't have much relevance to you. Easy to read, laugh out loud funny, nostalgic, I highly recommend it. My one unanswered question, what in the world was Melissa Sue Anderson's problem? The little goody-goody was, apparently, the actual bitch on the prairie! Okay...if you grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, you MUST read this book. You will love Nellie Olsen on a new level. Face it, she was the original TV bitch! And she was the best!Kudos to Alison Arngrim for being brave to share her story. Not all the details are happy ones. The story with her brother is truly sad & made me cry. And I loved her back stories about Little House. Plus who knew her mom was a famous voice actress?? Definitely one of the best biographies I've read. Great book. Very honest & enlightening.
Do You like book La Petite Garce Dans La Prairie (2013)?
Ridiculously good. I now want to re watch all the shows. I love her activism as well.

A mostly fun read, although the author's voice can get old at times.
