About book La Marcha De Los Reyes (2000)

Very creative and Fun, and exciting read! Book 2 is awesome! it pick up right where book 1 left off. There's lots of new twists and turns in the plot line. I love this series. This is by far the best sci/fi fantasy series since LOTR. The characters have so much nobility and chivalry. They set really good examples of how to live by. This series is filled with lots of life lessons and wisdom. I highly recommend it. Morgan Rice has written a series entitled The Sorcerer’s Ring. I really don’t know how it happened, but I started reading Book 2, A March of Kings. I have not read A Quest of Heroes, which is Book 1 in the series. I will say that I didn’t realize that I was reading Book 2 for a few chapters mainly because I became engrossed in the characters, the plot and the setting that Ms. Rice has crafted. The main story is set in a fantasy world called the Ring. In this, the second book, the MacGil dynasty is turned upside down when the King is assassinated. The book involves a quest for power between two major clans, the McClouds and the MacGils, and the botched assassination that leaves family members anxious for revenge. Ms. Rice has created a very interesting world, inhabited by strange creatures, and people. A fast-paced plot drives the story, but I was wondering, while reading, whether or not the book had been properly edited. I saw errors that were not just typographical, but ones in which two main characters had actually been confused. These errors drove me to give the book a lower rating, and I was a bit disappointed. I will say that young readers, especially boys aged 12 to 14, would probably enjoy this read. It's quick and the main character, Thor, is a fourteen year old. The story moves smoothly to the end, which is constructed in such a way as to leave the reader wanting to pick up Book 3. I try to be very honest about my reviews, and I would not compare this book, as many did, to George R.R. Martin’s epic Game of Thrones series, or Tolkien. This is just not in the same league. Do You like book La Marcha De Los Reyes (2000)?

About a 3.5. Not a deep or complex fantasy series but an entertaining story. The character development and world building are not fantastic but interesting. I would classify it as a Fantasy-lite. It is listed as a YA story with a target age of 10-14, but not so in my opinion. Some topics are quite mature. Just because the protagonist is 14 does not equate to the target audience. On a final note, I believe at least the first two books could be combined into one novel and possibly the third could as well. The endings are incomplete and in the second book quite dreadful. I felt I just completed a chapter and not the entire book.

Still enjoyable, but where the first book went a little too fast for character development. This one is a little too slow and the plot doesn't progress. Sometimes you just want to read something with a good story, and this has a lot of potential, but if I'm going to invest in a several-book series, I need it to be more engaging. I don't know if I'll keep reading the series. And yes, the content is leaning more mature, but it's subtle.
