I thought this was a lovely book. While some of it to the Tudor fan in me was thinking "Uh, no this didn't/wouldn't happen." the other parts of me enjoyed the story. The love story drew me in and put little stars in my eyes. I rooted for them (him being married notwithstanding) and wanted them to be happy. I finished the book; 1. Wanting to read more of Kate's books and 2. Wanting to learn more about the real Jane Poppycourt. That is a sign of a good book. Not only do you enjoy the story but you leave it wanting more. More information, more of their story, MORE EVERYTHING!!! I love history. I would recommend this to others who love historical fiction and Tudor history. I really liked the plot of this book. It has a lot of twists and turns which made the book very good. I love the details she gives her characters making them come to life and giving a clear picture of what it might have been like to live during this time in history. I also like that the characters are based on real people she just embellishes their stories to show what might have happened while they were living.
Tudor historical fiction. I read it to completion, but it was not memorable.
