Another of the children's books that has stuck with me through the years. I can remember seeing it on the shelves of Leslie Park Public school. I can remember reading it, and being thoroughly engrossed by it.But seriously, what scientist would ever get permission to send a *teenager* through time? But I remember it being rather realistic about language problems and hunger and the violence encountered by the Children's Crusade. And the complete confusion when the hero is finally rescued, but has become so absorbed into the past that he's forgotten his language. It always maybe want to read a story about his life after returning to his own time. Eindelijk deze jeugd favoriet weer gelezen. Heerlijk boek. Dolf wordt per ongeluk teruggeflitst naar de middeleeuwen, dat deel is natuurlijk wat vergezocht. Ook heeft hij wel heel veel zelfvertrouwen als hij net in de verkeerde eeuw is beland, en daar meteen een leidersrol op zich neemt.Maar het verhaal is goed meeslepend. Stiekem ook educatief, een mooi verpakte geschiedenisles. De denkwijze van middeleeuwers wordt helder, vooral gezien vanuit onze 20e-eeuwer Dolf. Het eind is wat abrupt, ik had er nog wel een hoofdstukje achteraan willen lezen!
