About book Krijg Je Wel (2009)

The central theme of this novel is infidelity but I did not find the characters entirely believable. The mistress at first seems slightly wishy washy who turns out to be a "bunny boiler". The wife, after finding out about husband's infidelity collaborates with the mistress to get back at the husband despite the fact she does not know the woman at all. Would she do this if she had a child to consider? If there's one thing I enjoy reading about, it's cheaters getting their comeuppance. Stephanie has been married to James for a while, and they have a son together. James is a commuter - he spends the end of the week at home with his wife and then Sunday evenings he drives miles away to work at his vetinary practise until the middle of the week. What Stephanie doesn't know is that while he's there, he is living with his "girlfriend", Katie. And Katie is unaware that James still has a wife.I liked this book. I was cheering Katie on from the offset; I know the whole point of the book was to show that she was taking the whole "revenge" thing too far, but if you've ever been the victim of infidelity, then you can't really understand how much the betrayal must hurt. The thing I didn't like about the book was that Stephanie started to feel sorry for James and think they were taking things too far. The bottom line is, James ia a serial liar and a cheat, and everything that was done to him was deserved. Overall, Katie was my favourite character, and I really hope she found her closure eventually! Good chick-lit with a slightly darker theme.

Not a well written book but I finished it in a single session and loved the "trash factor"
