The 11th volume of Fables focuses primarily on the much antcipated war between Fabletown and the Adversary. Following the whole Flycatcher Haven epic, the war part seems a bit short. However, I dislike battle scenes, so I'm not complaining. I loved the flying battleship! (There are diagrams of the ship at the end of the book). The beginning of the volume includes a Cindy-caper which shows her at her most spytastic. I was wondering how the war in FABLES will end. As always, Bill Willingham wrote an unexpected story. Agreed, that the war was really one-sided with emporer losing on every front, but it was fun to read. Nonetheless Cindy's spy-story is like icing on the cake!It is sad that we won't meet some of the FABLES characters in future issues! Mark Buckingham is really a master of pencils. The vertical panels are quite innovative! Also, Nico Henrichon's sketches add a nice change in the FABLES series!Eagerly looking forward to reading the next volume of FABLES...
