Well I tried again but I'm afraid I gave up at 64% - just couldn't read any further.I wanted to chuck my Kindle at the wall because the female in this story was just one constant whinger. She makes a drama from a drama and has the maturity of a knat despite being 28. Too much whining, too much tears and too much of me me me!Despite what has been said by other reviewers this story was and is extremely predictable with a capital P!Dumped by her previous fiancée just before her Wedding - she finds out that said fiancée is having an affair with her cousin (her best friend also). They decide to get married (because said best friend and ex fiancée are expecting a baby) and she gets invited to their wedding.... Ryder Woodson (alias Ryder Van Woodson) is a bartender and extremely handsome. He agrees to be her date for the wedding and also to pose as her fake Fiancee just to make the ex jealous. So you can guess where this is going and you can also guess that Ryder isn't just a mere bartender. What didn't work for me was the prose and some of the statements made throughout this book. "Ryder is my rock and I don't want to see him breaking because of me but I don't want to break because of him too"."It does no matter what I want now. What matters is what I don't want to happen again in the future"The one redeeming feature was Ryder. He had the patience of a Saint and was indeed a Knight in a Shining suit - Astrid had no redeeming features. She was one miserable, ungrateful damsel in distress with a massive chip on her shoulder. I just couldn't deal with her any longer and gave up for the second time. It's been quite some time since I have given a 5-star review to a romance novel. I guess when you have been reading books of the same genre over and over again, it takes a lot to impress you. Even though basically the storyline of this book is not new, I still find myself going through the roller coaster of emotions of each page and I love it. The author was able to write the lines in such a way that I felt all the heartbreak and happiness from the characters. It would have been nice if the author split the book into two for there are different plots in the halves of the book and for ease of reading. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book and I am recommending this for everyone who wants to believe in "Ever Afters".
