When our heroine gets laid off from her high powered PR job, she moves to a small town and is promptly made a suspect in the murder of a local veterinarian. I thought the title of this book was a bit too corny, but the characters were well drawn, and I found myself caring about their fates. The author did a god job of throwing red herrings in our way, which provided many believable suspects. A fun book, I'll read more of Mugavero's work. Kneading To Die is a great start to a new animal cozy series. The setting has a great home town feel to it, someplace you might like to retire to. The characters are well-developed and realistic, having positive qualities as well as faults. Relationships develop and grow and I found myself caring what happened in the relationships. There is a murder mystery throughout the book and I wasn't sure who the murderer was until it was revealed at the end. And there is a cast of animals to fall in love with and laugh at their antics. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves animal cozies or who just want to read an enjoyable book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series, hope it comes out soon.
