What confused me about this book was that there really wasn't a transition from when Comfort was not comfortable with Bode to being happy with being married to him. It seemed to me as if in one chapter she wasn't into him but in the next chapter, she was married to him. I think there could have been a nice development of their relationship there, but I suppose the author was focusing on the plot more than their relationship. Wow! All I can say is that I am so glad that Jo Goodman is still writing western romance! This book was hot and well written and ... and... I loved it. I have read all of Jo Goodman's books (except maybe some from the 80s), and I like most all of them. In fact one of my favorite books is a Regency romance by Ms. Goodman. But this one was special -- especially the setting (1870s San Francisco) and the heroine (an orphan raised by two "uncles").
